The Holy Week, declared National Tourist Interest, is one of the magic vertexes, together with Zamora and Valladolid, in the austere Castillian triangle that takes out to the streets its people's tradition and devotion. Each year the "cofradías" (confraternities) illuminate nineteen "pasos" of the best religiuos image makers from Castile: Gregorio Fernández, Mateo Enríquez, Juan de Juni, Juan de Muniátegui, ....

Saint John's Festivals are Medina's most traditionals celebrations. There are many activities: music on the streets, theatre, brotherhoods' music bands and joy, sport competitions, ... But two happenings overhead the rest and insterest the whole area:

Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Exposition
Bullfighting. The best bullfighters come every year since 50's to Medina de Rioseco. The Peralta brothers Angel and Rafael keep on the good work they always do.

If you are fond of gastronomy Medina de Rioseco is a must for you. Some great specialities you can't miss are:

Cheese, made of milk of "churra" sheeps. The same variety that breeds in Tierra de Campos the best lambs all over the world.
Roaster masters at Medina will have lamb roast, cooked with nothing more than water, salt and all their knowledge.
If you are lucky, you will taste hunting pieces. Medina's hunters are famous for their dexterity, but hunting is not allowed the whole year.
Pork and its products are just extraordinary.
"Candeal" wheat produced by Tierra de Campos was, and is, a better one in cooking bread and pastrymaking. Such a good wheat can only produce somethind, not to talk about, but to taste.
